St. Mary’s School Development
in phases

Following is the breakdown of the four phases of The St. Mary’s School Project: Land Acquisition, Minimal Construction, Full Construction, and Operation & Maintenance.

All costs in phase II, III, and IV are estimated only. They might change due to unexpected situation during development. However, the KSF team will try to negotiate with local builders and providers to get the best price possible.

I: Land Acquisition

Firve acres of land were purchased thanks to a donation of $26K and some loan. Twelve more acres of land are to be purchased now, even before any construction starts, lest land price will increase quickly in that area. The additional 12 ac. would cost $200K.

II: Min. Development

Build a small school of 10 classrooms, 2 restrooms and 2 dorms. When done, the school can start functioning immediately. This phase requires 5 acres of land, which has been purchased. However, phase II cannot start until additional 12 acres of land are bought first to get good price now. Estimated cost = $573K.

III: Full Development

Build 10 more classrooms, an Admin block, a 3-unit staff quarters, 2 dorms, 2 restrooms, and a playground. Once done, this St Mary’s school will be issued the certificate from the government to function as a Model School. It’s worth to mention that 5% of labor for the whole project are from the volunteers. Estimated cost = $841K.

IV: Operation & Maintenance

So that St Mary’s school can operate and maintain by itself, parents will volunteer to raise some livestock or grow something to generate income for the school. Build a 2-story structure for the clergy and leadership of the school. Phase IV’s estimated cost is $195K..
